About Arctic Soulcraft
From what binds to what moves
A return to contact with Nature, Relations and Light
Arctic Soulcraft
A professional platform for the development and dissemination of deep ecological psychology.
Arctic Soulcraft brings together theory, models, and practice in a coherent framework for understanding how regulation and adaptive capacity develop through the interplay between body, nature, relationship, and light.
The vision is to develop a practical and experience-based approach to human development, where the capacity for contact, mobility, and orientation is strengthened through living interaction with the surrounding world.
Torstein Svergja
Clinical Psychologist Specialist
– Concept, text, and design.
Torstein Svergja is a clinical psychologist specialist with broad clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults across multiple levels of the healthcare system. His work has been particularly focused on specialized treatment services for emotional instability and trauma.
Over several years, he has maintained a strong focus on method, method development, and dissemination, with an emphasis on integration and functionality rather than uniformity and exclusivity. His main areas of specialization include DBT, ACT, Basal Exposure Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing (SEP).
The idea behind Arctic Soulcraft emerges from this clinical work, as well as from years of living in close connection with nature. The platform is developed as an integration of psychology, nature, and lived experience, with the aim of strengthening contact, flexibility, and orientation in meeting the changing conditions of life.
Florian Ledoux
Photographer
- A messenger of the arctic
Florian Ledoux is an internationally recognized nature photographer whose work brings the Arctic into direct, embodied experience. His images convey life at the edge of survival, where contact, presence, and adaptation are essential conditions for living.
Through a documentary yet deeply immersive visual language, his work evokes a sense of presence that resonates beyond reflection. In Arctic Soulcraft, his imagery supports the reawakening of contact with nature—and through that, a renewed connection to what is original and alive in oneself.
Relief
the greatest help
was your courage to come in
bringing your warmth
and feeling what it means
to be me
that you didn’t turn away
you showed me
it’s possible
to come into my world
without warmth turning cold
and then it was clear
loneliness is not eternity
